Bright colors and patterns can be a great way to add personality and style to your home, but including them in large quantities can seem overwhelming, particularly in a smaller space. Luckily, there are more subtle ways of including bright colors in your home. Here are a few different places to include colorful details that might surprise you.
Inside Cabinets.
You likely have a number of cabinets and shelves in your home. And if you’re looking to add color to your space, you’ve probably also considered painting them. But if they take up a lot of space in your room, very bright colors could be a little too much.
However, you can paint just the insides of each cabinet or shelf for a less in-your-face look. You can either do this with bookshelves that are open so that the pops of color are always showing, or you can even paint the insides of cabinets with doors so that you can just see them when the doors are open.
When you think about adding bright colors to drawers in your home, you probably think of painting the front of each drawer. But if you want to go for a subtle, more surprising effect, you can paint the sides of each drawer so that the color only shows when you pull out each drawer. This can be applied to the drawers in your kitchen, on your dresser, and in other parts of your home.
Furniture Legs.
Want colorful furniture? Buy colorful pieces or paint them yourself. Want just a little bit of color added to your furniture? Paint small parts of them. Couches, chairs, and tables often have legs that aren’t totally hidden but also aren’t the main thing you see when you look at each piece. Add a bright coat of paint to the legs that complements the piece as a whole and you’ll have a surprising pop of color.
Whether you are always drawn to bright colors or you’re more of a neutral person who just wants to add a little bit of interest to your home design, adding surprise pops of color can be a great way to make your home stand out from the rest.
These are just a few ideas, so just keep an eye out for little details in your home that might benefit from a fresh coat of brightly colored paint or some wallpaper.-
